Campfire Audio Cascade Review

B9Scrambler posted a review of the Cascade headphone over on Head-Fi.  Sounds like it is a bit bass forward headphone.  With a diaphragm of 42mm that is smaller while B9Scrambler states the headphone controls the bass well you will have to see for yourself. Many smaller diameter diaphragms have difficulty in not sounding boomy and control roll off.   All in all, from the review it sounds like a great headphone that is designed for mobility.

It’s in the sweet spot for headphones ($400-$1,000) and therefore has some tough competition from the older HD-800, T1, Z7 and many others.

Pros – Amazing fit and finish – Plush sheepskin pads – Bass driven signature that doesn’t overpower – Sound stage

Cons – Concern for yolk/hanger durability – Cloth cable is just alright – Impact of dampeners minimal
