Grover Neville posted an in depth review of the Audeze Mobius headphones over on Inner Fidelity. I can attest that these are pretty darn good headphones for listening to music but they really shine when using them for gaming. Grover speaks to that in his review. Joe an admin at Head-Fi posted a review of the new wireless bluetooth Porta Pro from Koss. He says that the sound image is the same as the wired model which is great. Also, Joe mentions that there are far less signal cut outs with the Porta Pro than other bluetooth headphones. Priced at $79 it is a great value for a bluetooth device.
Audeze has announced that they are extending their Mobius Indiegogo Campaign until May 5th. As of this blog’s publishing time, there are still 43 left at the 32% discount. After that the price goes up $30. There are some great threads over on Head-Fi discussing the Mobius and I will link to those in another post this weekend. I am going to push this campaign a bit because maybe the only time you have an opportunity to own a planar magnetic headphone for under $300. Initial reviews are placing the sound characteristics of the Mobius of the Audeze Sine and some reviews place it in the ballpark of the LCD 2.

Jude posted a video review of the upcoming Audeze Mobius headphone on Head-Fi. While the Mobius is targeting gamers they appear to have the same, similar or in the ballpark planar magnetic core as the EL-8. However, according to the review it holds up against its peers when justing using it as a standard headphone. The Mobius has a usb-c connection with converting cables and a boom-mic included. It is also bluetooth and supports LDAC for all of the Sony fans out there. For the PC gamers it supports 7.1 surround with head tracking. Sounds like an interesting HP. Another interesting thing is that it is being sold pre-release on the Indiegogo platform. Apparently, to generate interest pre-release and to fund the manufacturing run-up costs. Slated for a June/July release the pre-release price is $269. That is 32% off the expected retail price of $399.
Jude has posted his review of CanJam Singapore on Head-Fi. As it typical at the Singapore event there will be great stuff to hear. Maybe I will bump into you as we try to hear the new Focal gear.
Jude has posted his preview video of CanJam SoCal on Head-Fi. Make certain you allocate time for this since it is over an hour long.
Cinder posted a review of FiiO’s A5 portable amp over on Head-Fi. This amp should drive your power hungry headphones.
