Sennheiser IE 800 S Review

Twister6 posted a review of the IE 800S over on Head-Fi.  As with other twister6’s reviews this one is thorough.  Unfortunately, there is no comparison with the original IE 800.  I owned an original and loved them but I felt there were other comparable IEMs for significantly less than the $700-$800 price tag.

Pros – very natural tonality, coherent tuning, tiny ceramic shells with 7mm XWB dynamic drivers, modular cable design with 2.5mm, 3.5mm, and 4.4mm terminations.
Cons – cable is not detachable, microphonics wearing cable down (but not up), short nozzle with custom eartips (though, standard Comply supported)

Jomo Audio Flamenco IEM Review

Ezekiel77 posted a review of the Flamenco 11 driver IEM over on Head-Fi.  From this and other reviews its performance doesn’t match its price point of around $2,300.  Plenty of other worthy competitors at and well under that price.

Pros – The final word in clarity, detail and resolution; class-leading imaging and separation capabilities; plays nice with bad recordings despite the level of detail, engaging and fun signature, musicality, flexibility in sound signature via switches.
Cons – Bass lacks genuine impact and slam, inadequate emotional resonance in the mids, smaller soundstage compared to others in the same tier.

FiiO F9 Hybrid Triple Driver IEM Review

Ryanjsoo posted a long and thorough review of the F9 over on Head-Fi.  He also compared it to a number of other IEMs in the same market space, including the quad driver 1More. The sub-$100 space is starting to heat up.

Pros – Great build and ergonomic, Excellent treble extension, Detailed, Relatively balanced, Tuning tips
Cons – May still be too bright for some, Average isolation, Still not especially linear

Review of Earsonics ES3

Audio123 has a review of the Earsonics ES3 triple BA driver IEM over on Head-Fi.  From the review they sound like an interesting IEM to which audio123 thought were superior to the well reviewed Noble Trident.  It should be noted that the ES3 is nearly 40% more expensive than the Trident.

Pros – Full-bodied presentation, Midrange, Soundstage
Cons – Accessories
