Jude posted a video review of the upcoming Audeze Mobius headphone on Head-Fi. While the Mobius is targeting gamers they appear to have the same, similar or in the ballpark planar magnetic core as the EL-8. However, according to the review it holds up against its peers when justing using it as a standard headphone. The Mobius has a usb-c connection with converting cables and a boom-mic included. It is also bluetooth and supports LDAC for all of the Sony fans out there. For the PC gamers it supports 7.1 surround with head tracking. Sounds like an interesting HP. Another interesting thing is that it is being sold pre-release on the Indiegogo platform. Apparently, to generate interest pre-release and to fund the manufacturing run-up costs. Slated for a June/July release the pre-release price is $269. That is 32% off the expected retail price of $399.
