Review of the Bluewave GET Wireless Bluetooth HiFi Headphone Amplifier

Currawong posted a review of the Bluewave GET bluetooth portable receiver on Head-Fi.  He appears to like the product.  While I have not used this device I have acquired or trialled several other bluetooth portable receivers with mixed results.  Basically, these are a convenience play.  If you need to be wireless then these will work but they are bluetooth with all of its issues. This product supports all of the major protocols including AptX and AptX HD.  They are missing LDAC which is a new up and coming one.

My biggest problem here is the price.  At $99 – $129 you may want to think about simply investing in a good pair of wireless headphones.  But if you want your LCD-2’s to be portable this would work. Kinda.  It doesn’t have the power to drive anything more than the easiest to drive headphones.

Pros – Excellent sound for the money. Light. Alternative, position-adjustable clips very handy. Quick power-on. Sound quality-indicating LED. Can be paired with multiple devices. AAC, APTx and APTxHD supported.
Cons – Output power limited. USB input limited to 48k. Volume control fiddly and lacks position indicator.
